Old drivers were manufactured by Tonsil Poland , as I remember. Cheap, but very good quality. Don't know about the new model. This seems like it might be quite a bit better than my previous recommendation. Sorry about that! Thanks - -some years back, I bought 4 big-clunky Pyle CD pair 1", pair 1. Not sure why you want to use B in any Hi Fi application, no matter what tweeter you use it with. Besides what frequency response says, which does not look that bad, B are, for lack of a better word, "slow" speakers, as in they are slow to start moving, slow to stop afterwards.
No add on tweeter nor EQ tweaking can correct that, which is not a "frequency response problem" but a "sluggish response" one. Do Zu and Tekton do something to that basic driver to transform its performance? Last edited by freddi; 1st August at PM. Originally Posted by JMFahey. I've got an old 70 liter or so Burhoe cabinet with 7. Jmfahey, Can you link to more on the "slow" phenomenon, i'm lost. Maybe even graphs. Originally Posted by norman bates. I like what they do. TBH, the whizzer cone is not my cup of tea. Acoustic Research used to replace it with a non-radiating heavy iron ring, which gets you to much the same place on frequency response. I would just struggle to find a tweeter that can keep up with 95dB loudness. I suppose we are driven to horn-loaded compression drivers here. Not my area of expertise.
