Dr Reddy intervened when TRS members, dissatisfied with the Home Minister's reply on repatriation of policemen of other regions from Telangana, rushed into the well of the House and shouted slogans. Referring to the TRS demand that a permanent committee be set up to oversee the implementation of GO , providing for repatriation of non-locals from Telangana, he said if such a suggestion was made by the Girglani Commission, it would be implemented.
The latter earlier denied that the Girglani Commission had suggested setting up of a permanent committee. The Home Minister agreed to call an all-party meeting to sort out the issue. The police department had begun repatriation of police constables of other regions. However, the 3, constables found to be non-locals could not be transferred at once and the government had directed the authorities to shift them in a phased manner, ensuring that administration and law and order was not affected.
The Home Minister said the government would be recruiting 6, constable to ensure that the requirement of police was not affected. Asked when sub-inspectors would be transferred, he said they would be repatriated in a year or year-and-a-half. Some recruitment had been done and it would take some time for new recruits to join duty after training. While implementing GO government was seeing the system did not collapse. He advised TRS not to politicise the issue. Trending Coronavirus Fake News Buster.

Normally, the ATR indicates the follow-up action taken by the government on the findings and recommendations of an Inquiry Commission appointed under the Commission of Inquiries Act. In the instant case, the only follow-up action that the government has taken is the nomination of a group of ministers and dispatching the copies of the reports to the departments at the Secretariat level. This explains the callousness and casual approach of the Congress government, which promised in the poll manifesto on the eve of Assembly elections to implement the GO Ms in letter and spirit. The Home Minister announced recently that the government has decided to repatriate to their home districts as many as 3, police personnel who have been working in Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerates in violation of SPF and GO Ms The Home Minister, however, clarified that such repatriation would be done in phases to avoid administrative, departmental and legal problems. Moreover, no methodology or time-limit has been specified for repatriation of personnel to their respective zones. It is unfortunate that other ministers and departments have maintained stoic silence on the issue and not taken any action on the Girglani Commission report so far.
